What is the “revolutionary new art form”?

In the art world it is rare that a new art form is created. A new art form is a new form of art that has not existed before. It is a new way created to do art. Kendall is the pioneer of a new way to paint that he created. He created his own tools and methods to create his paintings that did not exist before. This new art form allows you to see and feel “real nature on canvas” The larger paintings give you the feeling of standing at the place and a feeling of being able to walk right in. It is revolutionary because it is “this art is the art of the future - real nature on canvas”. Please seeRevolutionary new art form for more detail.

What is the new painting medium?

A painting medium is not just pigments on canvas. In this new painting medium the actual physical materials are canvas, or paper, and a water base pigment with agents for longevity, and color gamut. Giclée painting on canvas is a new exciting way to actually paint. This new painting medium has many ingredients which intermingle through the whole process. Please seeNew Painting Medium for more details.

What is a Giclée?
Giclée is a French word (pronounced "zee-clay") meaning “spray of ink”. Giclée is a process of printing that surpasses other printing methods in image quality and control, while also increasing the uniqueness of each print. We prefer printing our originals using this method, because the technology yields nearly flawless color reprsentation and can be printed on archival materials that the best fine art is created on. (canvas for oil paintings, or museum quality acid-free fine art paper) making it so customers can enjoy the vibrance and color gamut, that is noticeabley of higher higher value compared to other printing methods.

Why are there Limited Edition Original Paintings?
Kendall’s paintings are limited editions original giclées on canvas or paper. (Some paintings are open edition - meaning they are not numbered and there is no limit to the number printed) Each painting is an original giclée painting in archival ink. There is no other original somewhere that the artist painted on a canvas. Kendall has control over each painting until it is on the final canvas. Each original is finished only when it is on the final canvas. The editions are multiple originals, not prints of a photograph of an original as lithography and giclée have been known in the past. This makes each print an original and more valuable than a reproduction.

What does it mean, signed by the artist?
All of Kendall’s paintings have his signature on them. The smaller ones have it on the painting in the computer. The larger ones or any upon request are signed personally by the artist on the actual painting after it is printed.

On your limited Edition Art, What is the difference between a S/N or A/P?
Standard Numbered (S/N) - Each piece is individually hand-numbered with an S/N designation after the print number to correspond with the certificate. S/N means signed and numbered. S/N O means signed and numbered open edition. Artist Proofs (A/P) this edition is in very small editions. A/Ps are designated with the letters A/P during the numbering process.

What happens to the detail of these paintings when they are printed in the larger sizes?

The beautiful detail you see in the smaller paintings is even better in the larger ones. It is not diminished or blurred as these paintings are made larger. Kendall paints these painting to be the larger sizes with wonderful detail. These paintings are fun to look at up close and see the amazing detail and to stand back and take in the whole view. They have detail and clarity, realistic natural color, an immense scope of view (what is at your left, right, at your feet, and in the sky) a sense of real virtual reality presence, more artistic composition, and a full range from shadow to bright elements (you can see detail in shadows and in the bright sky as you would be able to see in real nature.) The vibrant colors and minute details excite all the senses.

Are these paintings archival?

Yes, these are archival. Only the finest canvas, paper and inks are used to create these paintings All materials used are acid free are made to last over a hundred years.

Why is Kendall’s art a painting?

Since the beginning of art, artists have tried to paint more clearly and exactly what they have in the hearts and minds. Kendall has found a way to combine the traditions of the fine art masters with new technology to create and pioneer a new exciting way to paint. He has been defining what this art form can do since 1995 when it became possible to paint this way.
